Barry Dyson

Barry is a recognized program and expert team leader, engineer, power industry transformation expert and business improvement consultant with over 30 years of successful international consulting and project management experience, strategy development and especially implementation. He has a reputation for working with and leading teams of senior stakeholders and successfully managing complex projects, especially converting strategic Board intent into the Enabling Core Capabilities and realizing it.

His key strength is developing and leading teams to implement innovative strategies and enabling Board vision, improving profitability and results for customers and stakeholders and achieving real change. Leading IT and business applications are used to find and embed best practices and enhance decision making from the most complex work environments through to the Board room in power and utilities environments. He builds deep executive level relationships and results driven expert project teams. In many countries, he has led teams devising and implementing transformational business and operational models, facilitating the major change from utilities spending money to businesses making money, helping engineers become businessmen. Barry has experience in bulk and renewable power generation, transmission and distribution, metering and data and customer information management from new technology in international mature and emerging markets. Barry has experience with hydro, wind, hydrogen and trigeneration renewable power projects.

He received acclaim for his power team leadership during the UK and Nigerian Power Privatization program and over the last three years leading the Ugandan Power Sector transformation Program funded by UKAid.
