Biography

Eyong Ebai is a C-suite Commercial Leader with extensive experience driving sustainable operational transformation and cross-functional growth across major international healthcare and life science organizations.

Since joining GE Healthcare in 2016, Eyong has progressed through various general management roles in West and Central Africa, and later in GE’s equipment and service organization across West, Central, and French Africa. He currently holds a board-level position as Executive Director / Managing Director for the $MM Sub-Saharan Africa business. Throughout his tenure, Eyong has earned multiple GE awards for achieving significant commercial successes.

Earlier in his career, Eyong served as Market Development and Patient Access Manager for West Africa at Johnson & Johnson Medical. He also held various business management, sales, marketing, and account management roles at Smith & Nephew Healthcare and Janssen-Cilag.

Eyong has gained exposure to multiple clinical specialties and sectors, including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumables, across both developed and emerging EMEA markets. With full P&L oversight and a strong commercial acumen, Eyong has demonstrated a proven ability to quickly adapt to macro and local economic conditions. He leads the end-to-end delivery of go-to-market strategies and best practices across territories, driving sustainable long-term growth.

A passionate advocate for enhancing global access to medical interventions, Eyong champions innovation and productivity, leads national health and infrastructure programs, and pioneers market expansion into new regions and customer groups. He is also dedicated to identifying and mentoring talent, developing inclusive and high-performing multicultural teams, and nurturing collaborative partnerships at the board level and with government and regulatory bodies.

In recent years, Eyong has established himself as a thought leader in the Healthcare Africa space and was recognized as one of the "100 most influential people of African descent in the healthcare and medical space" at the 77th United Nations General Assembly in 2023.
